How I Fell in Love with a Video Game Character by Eric Piotrowski

Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers for the games Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, and Heavy Rain.

Okay, so I've never actually fallen in love with a character from a video game. But I have felt a certain connection with some video game characters (especially Non-Player Characters, or NPCs); you probably have, too. As games develop, we'll have more of these friendships — and they'll become more meaningful. The possibility for genuine human connection with virtual beings is becoming more and more powerful as time goes on. The amazing thing is: It has almost nothing to do with technology.

I'll admit right up front that what follows is kinda long. There's lots of words here, and I won't be offended if some people take an attitude of TLDR. But these are important philosophical concepts, and I want to see the conversation move beyond the stale, boring black-and-white argument of "yes it is"/"no it isn't".

Paying my respects for the Red Dead

One of the best things about Rockstar's games is the amount of detail they put into things that you may never notice. After doing a sidequest that led me to the graveyard, I thought I'd take a look at the graves and to my suprise the folks at Rockstar pay their respects to the dead in a manner that may amuse.

Blur TV Ad takes a stab at Mario Kart

I still think the ad could of done more to show that Blur is like Mario Kart but with real cars, but it's quite funny in a "HAHA in your face" way.

Thanks to BalletBunny for spotting the ad.

5 Things the Sledgehammer Call of Duty game could be

We all know that there has been some drama over at Activision, but, from all that drama we've learnt that the newly formed developer Sledgehammer games will be working on a Call of Duty game, set to be released in 2011. Activision have said that Sledgehammer are working to "extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre." However the "action-adventure genre" is very broad when concerning video games. So I thought it would be fun to look at what the future may hold for Call of Duty.

Not another gaming blog!

It may seem that if you swing a virtual cat in a internet site your bound to hit a gaming blog at one point, but my feelings on adding another blog in this over crowded genre is also the same feeling Dannii Minogue has on Botox injections,

'One more won't hurt'.

My plan is to blog on any gaming news that I feel is worthy of a mention. I well aware that no one will read this (at best my close friends will gloss over the titles and I'd expect the odd LOL comment) but as a woman with a breast reduction would say, its nice to get things of your chest.

Chinny has signed out......

P.S - I'm not a woman that has just had a breast reduction, I'm a man that likes Beer, Women and Lager.

P.P.S - Ok so I'm not a big football fan, and I don't drink but I'm still one third of a man. Grrrr
